2nd May 2011

I woke up this morning to the sound of the waves (small ones) washing over the pebbles, what way to start the day. After finding the caretaker and asking him where the washing machine is and told moment! I decided to attack a problem that has arisen since Albania. I have had a reduction box fitted to Fritz, it makes for less reves on the hills and also helps by not having to change down a gear you just flick the switch on the gear shift an dip the clutch and you in half a gear works a treat but while we were in Albania the bolt that holds the switch to tell the box to engage and disengage came loose it’s only a 12mm bolt how hard could it be!!! Well I could get the spanner on but no way could I turn the bolt; the nut is captive so why am I battling. I messed around with this bolt for 4hours eventually I decide to put a nut on the other side to try and tighten it up this made it worse than I thought vice grips I’ll turn it from the bottom that worked until they slipped and nocked the hydraulic clutch master cylinder pipe and now I have a new problem cos the pipe has a hole in it time for a beer and rethink this …
